I have a sad story. Some family friends are going through a horrible time right now and need lots of prayer.
The family lives in California, John and Mary have 10 kids. 8 are still at home and the youngest is 3 and has downs syndrome. One of the other children has severe diabetes. Mary was diagnosed with cancer and the family new she was not going to survive. John's mom lives in MN and wasn't doing well so John decided to fly home and see her because he didn't know if he would be able to make it back anytime soon because Mary was sick. He came to MN and had a great visit. He was scheduled to leave on Feb 3rd. He wasn't feeling very well and everyone thought he was just getting sick. He made it to the airport and told an employee how he was feeling and they decided to call an ambulance. Little did they know he was having a heart attack. When they reached the hospital he went into cardiac arrest. Very few people survive this. They cooled his body temperature down and sedated him and put a balloon in. The doctors said he should come out of this and be ok. It took a few days of trying to get the vent out but he was finally breathing on his own last thursday. Then on Sat. Mary was brought into the hospital in CA. She wasn't doing well. She died Monday night. John was able to be on the phone with Mary and the kids as she died. The hospital was able to release John yesterday (tuesday) to go home to CA to be with his kids. This is just so sad! Right now no one knows who's going to take care of the kids. The family has no insurance. John may still have to have surgery. Please keep this family in your prayers.
