Picture from Cali

Here's a picture I took when we were in California. This man ran by at the perfect time! This photo is so motivating for me and just makes me happy! I love working out and the feeling you get when your done and you've accomplished your goals for the day!

great words...

I read this today and thought I would share it!

Surround yourself with people that bring you up and support you in your goals and dreams. Pray often. Focus on the good in life. Exercise daily. Eat clean, wholesome, nutritious food to nurture your beautiful gift, your body. Take time each day to do what you love. Laugh with your family and friends, eat dinner together at least 3 times a week and embrace life in all that it has to offer. By doing so you'll create a world of joy, a world of love and a world of peace. And after all isn't that what we strive for each new day?

Here he is!

This little guy comes home to us in the middle of March! I have wanted a Golden Retriever for quite sometime and soon he will be here! He's so cute, he couldn't find his way back into the "dog pile" after I was done holding him :) He is the runt of the litter, so we're hoping he stays on the small side.

Here is a question from our Fireproof study this week.

"Think of a time when you tried to show love to someone, and they didn't respond in a way you wanted. How did you feel?"

This one hit home for me. I have a past friend who I have tried to reach out to a few different times and every time it was like a piece of my heart got stepped on, or like you just got slapped in the face. Another friend sent me a forward email and the timing was perfect! This is what it said:

There comes a point in your life when you realize
Who matters,
Who never did,
Who won't anymore...
and Who always will.
So, don't worry about people from your past,
there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

That statement is really hard for me to grasp because the friendships I have I consider forever! You may have ups and downs but you work through them. What it says does help you realize you need to let go when you can't do anymore then you possibly have and just give up to God.

Napa

So I can't even begin to post all of my favorite pics from Napa, so I'm done trying. This first photo is probably my favorite one out of all of them! I love the barrels! We even brought a barrel home which is in our dining room! I haven't had time to edit anymore so you just get to see them the way they are. The other one is a bottle that was signed from the vineyard owner! We met the owners of both Pride Mountain and Alpha and Omega, and had bottles signed by both! That was really cool! We also did a blind tasting at Trefethen with 3 different cabs! That was so fun! We did an 01 an 05 and reserve cab. Chris and I both aced the test with flying colors! We know our cabs baby! We also went to Taylor's refresher. They were #2 out of the top 10 burgers in America! I'm not a burger lover so Chris had one instead! I'll post some pics soon of all the places we got see from the Sideways movie!

Seriously the funniest video ever!

fireproof your marriage

We had our first bible study in our home last night. It was great! The study is called "fireproof your marriage" It's based on the Fireproof movie. We were supposed to start the study last week, but with all the sickness and scheduling we had to start this week instead. You can also go through this study with just your spouse, which I would recommend for any couple. Its a six week course and it takes about an 90min or so to go through the chapters. Even after one night I feel like I learned more about myself and Chris. Nothing huge, just small things. But I enjoyed it, and it was great to meet new people from our church!

Darioush Winery

This was the first winery we went to. As you can see by the stars on the last photo, those were the wines I liked. This place was absolutely beautiful! The pistachio's they had sitting out to eat were so yummy! Some friends of ours went to Napa a few months before us and brought back a bottle of Duel that they graciously shared with us, so it was fun to get to have that again since you can't buy it here.

Crazy last couple of nights!

Ok, so I know I'm a big wimp once it gets dark outside, but I had every right to be freaked out! The last couple of nights someone has decided to play ding dong ditch on me in the middle of the night! The first time was Saturday night. I had to photograph a wedding all day Saturday, so Chris decided he'd go up to the cabin and do some snowmobiling and he took Daisy with so she didn't have to be alone all day while I was gone. I came home and was exhausted and went to bed way early. At 3:15am my doorbell rang! I was freaked out and all by myself! I decided I needed to get up and turn a light on in case someone was checking to see if no one was home before they broke into my house. I heard a car drive away, but I couldn't convince myself to shut the lights off after that. So get this! Last night it happens again at 4:08am! Daisy was home this time thank goodness and she put her little barker to use! The one and only time I enjoyed barking! Chris went outside, but didn't see anyone. So I called the police this morning and another lady down the street from us called in with the same complaints for the last two nights. She actually saw some kids running away. Come on! Really??? Can't kids come up with something better to do at 3am?!? Like be at home SLEEPING maybe!

first stop

Our first stop on the trip was the Jelly Belly factory. I don't even like Jelly Belly, but we had to bring some home for the girls :) Check out the nasty ones they offer on the box! Gross huh?
